E.L. Burns was the first walkway cover manufacturer to introduce the use of three extrusions, Beam, Column and Roof Deck, and has continued to lead the way in expanding the options available in structural members, finishes and designs. Since its inception, Burns has been recognized for its leadership role in the development of superior extruded aluminum walkway products. Today, the company continues to expand its influence, particularly as it relates to the use of molded acrylics.

E.L. Burns Co. provides a single source of turnkey responsibility for all types of walkway covers and canopies. From initial design through fabrication, to assembly and installation, skilled craftsmen work to assure that Burns covers complement both the aesthetic values of an architect's design and the natural beauty of the setting. Fabricated covers are shipped in Burns own custom designed vans, and Burns craftsmen install our products. This attention to detail combined with a rigid adherence to strict quality control measures - from the planning stage through project completion - ensures that Burns walkway covers are structurally sound, and correctly installed for permanence and maintenance-free performance.

Architectural / Structural Engineering Services

Whatever the requirements, Burns in-house architects and engineers can provide full service to architects and structural engineers. Burns provides proposal drawings and furnishes cost data quickly, and in time to set up budgets. While working drawings are in progress, Burns will furnish complete details for all conditions and unusual situations. In addition, Burns will also assist in sizing structural members, and provide information for the structural engineer such as test data, physical properties, and other engineering information to assure that snow and wind loads are considered, and all building requirements are met.
